Here are the answers to some common questions. If you don’t find the answer to your question here contact PawshRoselle@gmail.com for further assistance.
To schedule an appointment, you can call or text us at (630) 864-8400
For the safety of the pets in our care, we do not answer the phone while with a client, but we will return your call between clients or at the end of the business day.
Every dog is different, so there is no short answer to this question. Our prices are based on time required to complete the service for each individual dog. Our prices also reflect the high quality of service and the private environment we offer. The reason we don’t post prices is because no two dogs are the same. For example, a 10 pound Shih Tzu with 1/2” of coat who is groomed every two weeks takes a different amount of time than a 10 pound Shih Tzu with 1” of coat who is groomed every eight weeks.

Contrary to popular belief, there actually is no such thing as a professional license for groomers. Pawsh Pet Spa is a licensed and insured business entity. After working as a grooming assistant, our owner (and only stylist), Jen, graduated from a formal grooming academy in 2004. She is a highly educated, award winning Pet Stylist and Certified Canine Esthetician with multiple professional certifications which were obtained by choice. Jen takes at least 15 hours of continuing education per year with a focus on skin/coat health and canine behavior.

Come on in! All pets must be properly secured on a leash or in a carrier (please keep retractable leads locked in the salon). As we are located on a busy road, we strongly suggest that you allow your dog to relieve itself prior to leaving home. Please make sure to clean up after your dog if they relieve themselves when they get here.
We have found that a quick goodbye helps dogs be more confident at drop off. We will verify that we have the correct contact info, review the service and then you can be on your way!
We will give you an approximate pick up time so you have an idea of when to head back. We will confirm with a text 15 minutes before service is complete. If you return early, please enter quietly and have a seat out front.
If you need car-side service, just call or text us and we will come out to you!
We will give you an estimated pick up time at booking, again at drop off, and notify you 15 minutes before service is completed. Prompt pick up is important as we only work with one dog (or family of dogs) at a time.
To maintain a low stress experience for all dogs, we ask that you drop off your pet as close to their appointment time as possible. If you need to drop off early, prior approval is required. Without prior approval, you will be asked to either wait or return at your appointment time as it may disrupt another client’s service. Early drop offs are not accepted for new clients or reactive dogs.
If you will be unable to pick up upon completion, you must notify us when making your appointment. We always give an approximate pick up time and a 15 minute notice prior to your dog being ready. Prompt pick up ensures that another client's service is not disrupted. Pets left beyond their appointment time are crated for their safety and the safety of other dogs in our care. New clients or reactive dogs are not eligible for late pick up.
All pets must be picked up no later than 4:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays). At 4:30 (3:30 on Tuesdays), we leave for the day. If your pet is left beyond this time, they will be kenneled for their safety and you will need to contact us to arrange a pick up time. A $50 fee will be applied to your total for any pets left beyond our regular hours.
If a pet is left beyond our opening hours and we are unable to contact you or an emergency contact, Animal Control will be notified and you will be responsible for any fees incurred.
No. Not only is it not covered by our insurance, but it is generally counterproductive to have an owner present during grooming. More often than not, this can cause a serious safety hazard for the dog and the stylist as the dog would be distracted by its owner’s presence. We will contact you 15 minutes before your dog is ready to be picked up.
We do have a bench in the front of the salon if you would like to wait, but we ask that you not interrupt the service.
We accept cash, all major credit cards, Venmo and Zelle. We can even send you an invoice prior to pick up to expedite the pick up process. Receipts are sent over text or email.
Gratuities are never expected, but always greatly appreciated.
If you have a pet with aggression, fear, anxiety or other behavioral issues, the most important thing is that you are honest with us about these behaviors. We may require a consultation depending on the circumstances, but we won’t automatically turn a dog away due to past difficulties. With that said, we will not continue services if at any point the dog becomes a danger to itself or the groomer.
This depends on what is going on with your pet. If your dog has an ongoing condition, such as a heart condition, respiratory condition or seizure disorder, we will need veterinary approval before services are rendered and we will require you to wait while services are completed in case of an emergency. In these cases, we strongly recommend having your pet groomed at a veterinary facility and would be happy to provide a recommendation. If at any point, your dog becomes too stressed or we think continuing services would be dangerous, we will discontinue service.
If your pet has a condition such as allergies or arthritis, we are happy to work with your pet and actually have specialized training to make grooming a more comfortable experience! We are also happy to work in conjunction with your veterinarian to treat any (non-contagious) skin conditions your dog may be struggling with.
If your pet is coughing, sneezing, vomiting or has gastrointestinal symptoms, please reschedule your appointment until they can be seen by your veterinarian. Any dog experiencing these symptoms at drop off will be denied services and payment will be due in full. Many canine illnesses are airborne and/or can live on surfaces for 24-48 hours, so we cannot put the health of our other clients at risk.
At Pawsh Pet Spa, we do not provide flea baths as the safety of flea shampoos is highly debated. If your pet has fleas or you suspect it has fleas, please contact your veterinarian at least 48 hours prior to your appointment for fast acting treatment, such as Capstar, AND a preventative. We encourage all dog (and cat!) owners to administer flea prevention year round or as directed by their veterinarian.
If a dog is found to have fleas at the time of service, a $40 cleaning fee will apply as we have to halt services to ensure that fleas do not spread inside our salon or to other clients.
